Interview : Olivier DAUMAS, Account Manager

A passion for the customer

A “field salesman who likes to put efforts into the work”: this is how Olivier describes himself, while acknowledging that he is driven by a single purpose: to make his clients happy. Working alongside his brother Vincent since the beginning of the Smartclic adventure, he has been putting his sales skills in good use for the agency for 10 years now.

Craftsmen, SMEs, shops, real estate agencies, hotels, restaurants…: Olivier likes to meet all the traders, understand the local economy, and establish links within the various players. He never knows what his day will be like. “Every day, I meet at least one new prospect. What I like the most in my job is the human relationship.” Because responsiveness and meeting deadlines are part of his commitments, he uses his office work on “the evenings to prepare quotes and reply to commercial enquiries“.

Textile expert: that’s him

When his uncle, a sales agent himself, asked him to come and help him at a trade fair, Olivier discovered his passion for sales. Once obtaining his Sales force BTS, he never left the profession. This native of Arles has been browsing in Provence for 27 years now. An experience that has enabled him to test the needs step by step and to help building the Smartclic range.

If he puts as much energy into building site signs as he does as well in lighters or pens, it really is the textile range that he is particularly fond of. “My mother and grandmother were seamstresses. I think they gave me a taste for quality.”

In this field, not only Olivier chooses his suppliers carefully, but he also does the fitting! “Choosing the right size is the most complicated thing about textile. So, I spend as much time as necessary in the company so that everyone can try it on. It’s a win-win.” Satisfying his customers and making them happy, that’s what Olivier likes above all. And they repay him well in return.

Every day, I meet at least one new prospect. What I like the most in my job is the human relationship.
